Dr. Melissa Luhrs

Clinic Director and Founder

As a child, Dr. Melissa frequently battled sinus infections and a swimming-related sports injury, which led her to a chiropractor. This positive experience sparked her interest in a healthcare career, eventually guiding her to choose chiropractic.

Education and Professional Qualifications

Dr. Melissa graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. She has pursued additional studies and including a diplomate program in neurology. Among her most memorable patients was a quadriplegic who, initially unable to move, regained limb control and could walk with the assistance of a cane.

Her qualifications also include a certificate in Functional Analysis Chiropractic Technique (FACT), certification in the Webster Technique from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, and she is a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner.

Making the Most of Life in McFarland

In her spare time, Dr. Melissa enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and traveling with her husband. They aim to visit all the national parks and take annual road trips to explore various sites across the country. She is an active member of the Chiropractic Society of Wisconsin, the McFarland Chamber of Commerce, and the Madison Business Forum.

Dr. Melissa is deeply committed to being your health advocate. Having overcome two different cancer diagnoses, she is passionate about supporting others in their health struggles. This dedication inspired the name Health Journey Chiropractic for her clinic.

Dr. Charity McMahon

Dr. Charity McMahon is a native of Monroe, WI. She was introduced to chiropractic at a young age after a spinal screening at the local YMCA. She learned that with chiropractic care she was not only able to preform better at sports but she also felt better over all. She dreamed of becoming a chiropractor since she was 12 years old.

Education and Experience

She graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA in 2007. She successfully owned her own clinic in Fitchburg, WI for 10 years until a job transfer for her husband moved her family to Tennessee in 2018. In 2022, they decided “there’s no place like home” and her family moved back to the great state of Wisconsin!

Dr. McMahon is passionate about helping people live and feel better naturally through chiropractic. She also has a passion for working with pregnant women and children and has taken several additional classes through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association to provide her patients with the best care possible.

Outside of Practice

Dr. McMahon enjoys spending time with her husband, Shawn and their two boys, Patrick & Porter. She enjoys biking, running, swimming, triathlons, hiking and just about anything outdoors.
